Long time, no post.

Well it's been awhile. During the time i've been gone a lot of things have happened. The big ones are, The MS150, and recovering from a crash.

The MS150 was great. We camped at the Logan fairgrounds. The first night, we got there helped our friends set up their tent, and then kicked off the night. With a 6:30 reservation at Gia's italian restaraunt, we expected to get in around 7:15. Well, we got lucky. There was no line, and we got in really quickly. We came back to camp, and spent the rest of the night talking and making last second preperations for the Big ride.
It's saturday morning. We wake up pretty early I don't know how early, but for a teenager anything before 10:00 is early. I get out of my tent, and it is COLD!!!!!! I mean seriously i could not stop shaking. Next we walk over to the breakfast table, I grab a bagle, some cream cheese,a muffin, and some poptarts. Oh yeah, and a orange juice. After eating all that i could i kept the pop tarts in the back pocket of my jersey. After this I told my dad that i was just going to use some of Neil's Ice cream.
My dad answered with a "what?"
"Yeah i'm going to use some of Neil's ice cream."
After saying it a second time i realized that i meant to say sunscreen, but instead it came out as ice cream.
Finally, we started the ride. We finished the century route with no problem, and a time of 6:04.

Well, we get back to camp, and we go over and take showers at the swimming pool. When we get back from that. I went straight into the tent, and slept for 4 hours. When i woke up, Me, geekcyclist(my dad), and Neil, went to Gia's and got some dinner. I came back to camp Neil And GC went to sleep. Me and Ken stayed up a little longer just talking.

Sunday Morning: Great day, not too cold but not hot yet either. Wake up and go over to the breakfast table, and OH MAN!!!! a little piece of heaven they had Pancakes, and hashbrowns, and eggs. Oh man, it was good. So after that we decided to take off. The plan for the day is to finish the 75 mile course. We get out on the course and my legs are feeling great. Then we get to the canyon and i take off up it. GC told me to meet him at the rest stop at the bottom of the canyon. First people i drafted off of, was a nice big non-aerodynamic Tandem. It was heaven passing people left and right, going 20 mph UP A CANYON!!!! Then a paceline of about 4 people blow past us. I hook onto the backwheel of the paceline, and Man OH MAN we flew up that canyon. Well at the top we all gave eachother praise at how fast we were, then went on down the canyon in a well oiled paceline.
After that, i wait at the bottom of the canyon for GC, he gets down about 20 min later, and we refill our waterbottles, and take off. After this we are at about mile 30 something or other. Me, and GC got into a nice paceline going about 18 mph, we were each taking pulls because we felt strong. Well at about mile 49 there's a left turn, then a quick right turn, and then we saw a support vehicle with a man telling us to turn left. As we started to fan out, i got stuck in the middle of the group and hit a pot hole just right going 20 mph, bending the wheel severly. Everybody knows that if a wheel is bent its not going to spin. What does that mean? I go flying over the handlebars at 20 mph. I got lucky and came away with a seperated shoulder, and road rash. We weren't able to finish the ride, and got a nice ride in the ambulance to the hospital. There was one MS150 personell there who stayed with me throughout the entire hospital stay. Just another thing to prove that the MS150 is the best supported ride in Utah.

And thats how the MS150 weekend ended. Overall: It was a great weekend, and a load of fun.

Recovery: it has been a good recovery the shoulder isn't giving me that much trouble, and the road rash is heeling.

Tip of the day: SHAVE YOUR LEGS, i have to say that getting the gravel scrubbed out of the road rash on my non-hairy legs was much less painful than getting the gravel scrubbed out of my hairy arms. So shave your legs.
